Subject	Raced a Esprit TT V8, little surprised

Message	Crusing around Clearwater/St Pete last weekend, I didn't have much luck finding many of the usual hordes of rice and "Hey look , I have a loud exhaust so I'm fast mustangs" I usually run into. I was a little disapointed, so I headed home. :-) On the way, at about 50 mph, a bright yellow car rolls up beside me...didn't think much of it at first, I could only see the front wheels, it was dark, etc. I took a second glance a few seconds later. Yikes! Lotus on the side window. I slowed to see if it was the V8, and it was. WE stopped at the next light side by side, I told him nice car and he said "thanks , those are fun, too. Turbo?" I said yeah, and the light turned green....well, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I rolled off easy in 1st (auto) at avout 25 mph he punched it and jumped to about my front bumper at his rear bumper. As soon as I saw him go i punched it too, I was accelerating hard in first as he shifted into 2nd, so I pulled even with him, we hit second at almost exactly the same time and pulled dead even all the way through 2nd. we let off there because of congestion, still great fun! It the only Lotus I have seen around this area, and the guy was cool. I am dead stock but for boost jets at 11 psi. Is anyone as surprised as I was at how I held with this guy? peace
